Replace missing teeth fast
Dental implants are a restorative dentistry treatment used to resolve the issues of missing teeth.

If left untreated, missing teeth can cause long-term oral health problems including a shrinking jaw bone and receding gums, damage to neighboring teeth and it can increase your risk of gum disease.

Dental implants are made from titanium (or sometimes ceramic) and it acts as an artificial tooth, with an attached screw which is placed into the jawbone to keep the tooth in place (like a tooth root).

Things you want to know before planning dental implant

  • Unlike dentures, implants do not come with the risk of moving as they are permanently fixed into your mouth.
  • Most adults are eligible to have dental implants. It is important that the patient’s bone tissue has fully developed.
  • So, we usually do not use implants on people below age 18.
  • For the implants to work effectively, our adult patients should be in general good health and have healthy gums already.
  • We will carry out a full evaluation of your teeth and health prior to any treatment commencing.
  • However, some factors that may deter a dentist from offering implants is if the patient is a smoker, has had radiotherapy to their jaw area, has diabetes which isn’t well-controlled,suffers from gum disease
  • Each case is different, and if your dentist does not think implants are suitable for you, they will be able to advise you on an alternative and more appropriate option

step in placing dental implant

Consultation and 3D-Scan

If you think that you need a dental implant or if you have been recommended a dental implant therapy , it will start with an initial consultation. The surgeon will do a clinical examination and together with a 3D-scan, making an assessment of the site and the bone volume, to be able to make accurate planning.

A written estimate of the cost will be given to the patient. Upon acceptance of the treatment and estimate, an appointment will be given for the first part of the treatment, which is the installation of the implants.

our surgeon will decide how long the implants need to heal inside the jawbone before the second part of the treatment can begin. Usual time for integration is 3 months for the implants, although this can vary.

2nd part of the treatment consist of prosthetic work, where impressions have to be taken, and the fabrication and fitting of the actual teeth, on top of the integrated implants. Number of visits, is decided by our surgeon and prosthodontist.

cast partial

BPS® stands for Biofunctional Prosthetic System. These Dentures are ‘Top of the Line’ precision dentures that provide optimum function while eating, speaking or laughing. They feature the best teeth and plastics money can buy. By far the best part of BPS® Dentures are the use of the SR Ivocap processing system.

precision Attachment

Precision Attachments are special attachments used for the perfect fit of removable partial dentures. The attachment prosthesis consists a combination of permanently fixed and removable denture. (semi fixed denture). It is a passive retention mechanism by which the abutment teeth are not exposed to excessive forces.

Removable partial dentures with precision attachments are used for treating terminally involved dental arches (free end saddle). It uses a double tilt retention mechanism thus preventing gravitational and muscular forces from dislodging the partial denture during function. The use of double tilting path of insertion eliminates the torquing stresses that the most abutments are forced to absorb from conventional retentive mechanisms.
